A note from Alysha:

Everyday we are confronted with stressful situations in this hungry city we love and call home. The fast pace can get to be too much at times especially when we are dealing with personal issues. The loss of a loved one, starting a new job, a break up, these can all make the day to day tasks feel overwhelming. “This job is too hard”, “I will never find someone”, these negative thoughts can create a cloud that can effect the day to day happiness we should feel. When we are able to identify our negative thoughts and behavior patterns we are then able to self regulate and change those behaviors.

We often do not feel comfortable to burden those around us with what is going on and we need to seek help elsewhere. Having someone you can be open and honest with can make a difference during the more difficult days. My experience with patients and families dealing with crises, as well as anxiety around the unknown in some of the most difficult times of their lives has showed me how resilient people can be. Developing new ways of coping, and changing the negative thinking, to more positive thinking, will help build your skills to handle the difficult days. You do not need to be in crisis to seek therapy and it can be helpful to have someone to discuss the day to day stressors as well to build your tools for when life throws that curveball.

I strive to maintain an empathic and safe, environment where you will feel comfortable to express yourself. I tailor my sessions to meet your specific needs and I want the therapeutic process to provide the most effective and gratifying experience for you. Whether you are faced with an unexpected life event or the everyday stressors in a busy city it is important to know you are capable of overcoming whatever life confronts you with. I look forward to speaking with you!
