Adult Children Empowerment: An AGP Support Group

The new year is a great time to start therapy and sometimes, 1 on 1 therapy can seem intimidating. We are offering a group therapy session for adults who have dealt with dysfunctional family dynamics throughout their childhood, which could be beneficial for those looking to begin therapy, but aren't quite ready to do 1 on 1 sessions.

Dysfunctional family dynamics can wreak havoc on the lives of the Adult Children who have spent their lifetimes navigating it. These dynamics may create heightened self-criticism, strong needs for control, problems recognizing and expressing feelings, difficulty in intimate relationships, and more in the lives of the Adult Children who’ve navigated them.

AGP therapists-in-training, Katy Haney and Kadence Mitchell, will lead this group intended to provide support, coping skills, psychoeducation, shared experiences and hope for adults 18+, who have experienced parental substance abuse, parental mental health struggles, and other forms of family dysfunction and abuse during their childhood, adolescence, and into their current adulthood.

Please keep in mind that we do offer special rates for those who qualify (ie: students) and have two open slots through our partnership with Brown Sisters Speak, which offers free therapy for Women of Color.

Please email reception@agoodplacetherapy.com to reserve your spot or for more info.
