A Note from Cadence:

Anxious thinking can be convincing and consuming. We begin to believe that our self-worth is based on how “in control” we are. Many people experience the constant feeling of needing to get everything "right". They use rumination and planning to try to avoid the worst-case scenario. It's a cycle that's easy to fall into and hard to find your way out of. My own journey has also shown me that there's other ways to relate to your mind, to tolerate and lean into uncertainty, and to let go of the illusion of overcontrol.

My path to the mental health space has not been linear, it’s involved many twists and turns. I have taught in kindergarten classrooms, worked in marketing in corporate America, changed both colleges and degrees during undergrad, and finally moved across the country into the unknown. Each of these shifts asked me to sit with uncertainty I couldn’t plan my way out of, and that’s where I first started learning, not just teaching, the tools I now bring into the mental health space. Through these experiences, I became fascinated with how human beings think, connect, cope and make meaning of their own experiences. I am eager to work with children, college students, and young adults who may be navigating feelings of being stuck or uncertain, helping to build confidence, gain clarity and recognize the value of their own unique experiences.

My Approach

During my first year internship, I worked with children and families providing support to enhance emotional regulation and build coping skills. It was through building trusting relationships using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach that I have been able to support my clients in creating sustainable change. I believe humans already carry real strengths, and therapy is often about helping them notice and use what is already there, rather than handing them something new. Whether you are navigating a life transition, a new school, a career shift, or figuring out who you are, I am eager to work with you.

I join A Good Place Therapy as a second-year Master of Social Work candidate at Columbia University having completed training in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) which will inform how I think about the connection between past experiences and current anxiety and depression. As someone with Jewish identity, I bring cultural humility and sensitivity to every conversation. I care about creating a space that feels warm, honest, and curious. My hope is to rediscover your strengths with you while honoring that you are the expert in your own experiences.
