A note from Savannah

People aren’t meant to do life alone. Therapy should be a safe container that allows for personal reflection, development, and a place for it to be okay to not be okay. My goal is to help you see real change occur and to empower you to have more control over your emotions and behavior. Sometimes we get overwhelmed by things we can’t control and feel lost or helpless. I would like to help you find radical self love and acceptance as well as coping skills to find more helpful ways for you, your teen, or child to manage challenges.

Together we can use your strengths and tap into your innate ability to heal. We will examine the factors that may be contributing to the ways you may be getting stuck, as well as helping you work through patterns, habits, or relationships that aren’t serving you. I use evidence-based strategies such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) approaches to look at unhelpful thought patterns and the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can look like self esteem building, breathing strategies, discovering your values, and connecting with what brings you joy. I believe that through our relationship built on a foundation of trust and compassion that we can collaboratively work together to reach your goals and find relief.

I enjoy working with parents who may be struggling with parenting and supporting their family using attachment theory. My experience using evidence-based models like behavioral parenting for ADHD and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Children) training. SPACE approaches have success in teaching skills to parents that help them set their children up for success based on their individual needs when struggling with issues like ADHD, independence, and routines. I love supporting children struggling with anxiety, teens dealing with academic or social stressors, as well as young adults transitioning to college or life post grad. Being a Yoga teacher, I feel the mind/body connection is an integral part of healing and informs how I work with others. I include Mindfulness techniques to support clients with issues such as anxiety and depression.

Cultural and gender identity is a part of who we are and impacts many aspects of our lives. I pledge to create an inclusive environment and safe space for marginalized and underserved groups of my community. As a therapist I want to honor how your experience is uniquely yours and view it as my responsibility to be culturally sensitive and competent. It would be a privilege to work together in your journey of self discovery and wholeness.

I am pleased to share that I am in-network with Aetna Insurance.
