A Note from Maddy:
I believe therapy is a safe, collaborative space where you can honestly explore what you’re feeling. My goal is to create a warm, open environment where you feel comfortable bringing your whole self—whether that means silence, reflection, hope, or vulnerability. I understand that everyone's journey is unique, and I will support you at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you.
My interest in becoming a therapist was sparked by my own experiences of navigating my identity and overcoming challenges with the guidance of a therapist, which made me realize how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen and understand without judgment. I want to support others in finding their strength, resilience, and a sense of hope, especially during difficult times.
My Approach
My training has developed my critical thinking and reflection skills, emphasizing the social and cultural influences behind your challenges. I use a strengths-based approach to help you recognize your best qualities and find ways to build on them.
When you come to see me, you can expect a supportive, empathetic space where your voice is heard. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, exploring your feelings, thoughts, and concerns. I might use modalities like talk therapy, strengths-based methods, CBT, and mindfulness or reflection techniques, tailored to your needs.
My previous experience supporting high school students as a school social work intern in New York City gave me valuable insights into building quick connections, adapting to individual needs, and meeting clients where they are—skills I believe are universal and essential across age, culture, and background.
