FAQ

Congratulations on your decision to start therapy.  It's a big step! We aim to make the administrative process as smooth as possible so we can focus on the more important matters...like your life!

Do you take insurance?

Yes. We are an "in-network" provider with Cigna. We also handle all "out-of-network" claims directly so you do not have to file your own claims and await reimbursement.

If you want to use your out-of-network benefits, we will check your benefits, file your claims, and have the insurance company send the funds directly to us so that you are not stuck waiting for reimbursements. You pay the percentage not covered by your insurance, typically 20-60% of my fee, at the time of session, and the insurance company pays the rest.  You also may have a deductible to be paid prior to your insurance paying. We will do our best to negotiate a rate with you that you can afford.

To look up your benefits and find out more information on your out-of-network coverage, please email the receptionist/medical biller here or call 917-768-0679 and give your insurance details to the receptionist.

What if I don't want to use my insurance or the deductible is too high?

Some clients prefer to pay privately for a number of reasons, including: 1) to ensure confidentiality is not compromised as insurance companies require a DSM 5 diagnosis and retain the right to access treatment plans, 2) to be completely free of red tape and 3) their reasons for seeking therapy, such as exploration of life or career goals, or sorting out relationship issues, do not rise to level of need required for a DSM 5 diagnosis.  Premarital counseling and couples therapy also often does not qualify for insurance reimbursement. We will make an effort to ensure that we have a plan that works for you in place.  Please email or call 917-768-0679 for more information.

What are acceptable forms of payment?

Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, all major credit cards, and HSA/FSA spending accounts.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 24 hour notice of cancellation is required. You will be charged for the full session in event you do not cancel within 24 hours.

 Do you accept reduced rates?

Please contact the receptionist/billing department at a Good Place Therapy & Consulting for questions on finding a payment plan that works for you by sending an email here or calling 917-768-0679
